Ultrasonography

Back to services

Ultrasound, like radiology, can be used to view many of the body's organs. The difference is that ultrasound allows us to see the internal structure of the organs in question whereas traditional radiology may not show such details. For example, bladder tumors are rarely visualized on regular radiographs (x-rays). With ultrasound, we can easily see masses within the bladder. This allows for a more rapid diagnosis and treatment plan. Some of the other organs that can be readily imaged include heart, liver, kidney, and spleen.

Ultrasonography for is sometimes required for your pet when Radiography cannot determine the lesion or abnormality present. We routinely use Ultrasound for pregnancy diagnosis
